Air Quality Overview
South Florida is a breeding ground for mold and fungus. Let’s not forget about all the pollen circulating-thoughout the air. The air in our area is hot and humid most of the year. Mold loves moisture and so it’s not unlikely your equipment could have some growing right inside. It’s imperative you have a clean and properly running air conditioning system to prevent the increase of pollutants in your home as well as increase the energy savings. When there is moisture present mold is not far behind. Most people think just cleaning your ducts is enough but we suggest you have your equipment checked as well. The air handler is like the lungs of the home and careful inspection is necessary if you’re trying to improve your home’s air. The air handler consist of a coil and a blower motor (see pictures below.) A dirty air handler can lead to higher energy usage, equipment failure, and an unhealthy home. Some UV technology products have been documented to reduce mold, VOC, bacteria, and fungus on equipment and surfaces.
